Christmas
2006
“
You have dawned from a Virgin
O Christ, spiritual Sun of justice;
And a star showed you whom nothing
Can contained in a cave”
( from Christmas Vespers)
Our
brethren in the Lord,
We are preparing to celebrate a great mystery, the Divine Birth of our
Savior Christ from the Virgin Mary. The Son and Word of God is conceived,
incarnated without seed and is born from the purest and holiest person
of all ages, our Panagia, and is offered as deliverance and salvation
to the human race. The prepared virginity of her soul attracted our Creator
and bent His mercifulness, so that He descend from heaven to the revealed
entirely to us, to redeem our sin and to give us back the lost paradise.
Behold, my brethren, this then is the path to know our God, who remains
unknown from our multitude offences. God comes and is born in our hearts
only when we prepare for Him a place of cleanliness and purity. God loves
this cleanliness, He rest in it, is born and dwells in it and His life
becomes our life.
Did we really make this preparation of our souls? Our holy Church, with
this period of the advent for Christmas, gave us again this year the spiritual
opportunity for preparation. It invites us with fasting, prayer, a clean
confession and with repentance to prepare the humble manger where Christ,
our Savior, will be born.
Let us glorify as the angels, let us venerate like the shepherds, let
us supplicate like the least of sinners for the forgiveness of our sins.
May the incarnate God of mercies and infinite compassions, pour out His
divine mercy unto all of us, unto to you and your beloved families, in
order to celebrate in holiness all the feasts of the twelve-day period
and bless our new year, 2007, with many graces and the perfection of our
souls.
With great gratitude and many thanks for your support to our Monastery,
we, humbly and unworthy, always pray for all of you and for your families.
